Germany is playing an important role in NATO’s Steadfast Dart military exercises and is becoming a key hub for the North Atlantic Alliance’s defense.
According to Report, this was reported by the Bild newspaper.
Against the backdrop of the situation around Greenland, NATO is launching its largest military exercises in 2026. The aim of the maneuvers is to practice the rapid deployment of NATO troops in the event of a conflict. Germany, as the newspaper notes, will become the central hub. As part of the Steadfast Dart exercises, more than 10,000 military personnel, as well as military equipment and vehicles, will be deployed to Germany. A total of 11 NATO countries are participating in the maneuvers: Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Bulgaria, and Turkey.
More than 1,500 pieces of military equipment will be involved, including tanks and rocket launchers, more than 20 aircraft, and almost as many pieces of naval equipment, including landing ships, frigates, and submarines. The exercises are being conducted under the command of Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) General Ingo Gerhardt. “During the Steadfast Dart exercises, we are demonstrating a high level of readiness for defense,” Gerhardt told the Bild newspaper.
