According to a statement made by the spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday, He Lifeng, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, will visit the United Kingdom from June 8 to 13 at the invitation of the UK Government.
During the visit, He Lifeng will hold the first meeting of the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism together with the US side. It was emphasized that the meeting aims to develop mutual understanding and cooperation in economic relations between the two countries, and that it is also an important step in terms of global economic stability. Officials have stated that the mechanism seeks to create a healthier and more predictable dialogue environment in areas such as trade policies, investment sectors, and strategic industries. During his visit to the UK, He Lifeng is also expected to hold a series of high-level meetings with British officials.
