The descent capsule carrying the crew of the Chinese manned spacecraft Shenzhou-20 successfully landed on Earth at the Dongfeng landing site in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in Northern China on Saturday, November 15, 2025. The three taikonauts, Chen Dong, Chen Zhongrui, and Wang Jie, returned using the Shenzhou-21 spacecraft after their original vessel was damaged by space debris during their six months in orbit. The return, originally scheduled for November 5, was delayed due to the collision. China’s Tiangong space station, located at an altitude of about 400 kilometers, became operational in 2022 and has since been available for international projects. This achievement reinforces China’s ambitious strategic goals in global space exploration and technological infrastructure.
