Europe will tighten sanctions against Russia.

As Report reports with reference to TASS, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said.

“We Europeans will continue to tighten the sanctions screws. The US Congress is also ready to expand sanctions,” he claimed before his visit to Washington.

At the same time, according to the foreign minister, it is necessary to ‘keep up the pressure’ for Russia to enter into serious negotiations on Ukraine.

It should be noted that on 28 May, Wadephul will pay a working visit to the United States, where he will hold talks with Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The focus of attention will be the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the situation in the Gaza Strip and the trade dispute between the EU and the USA.

Earlier, the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said that the EU is working on the 18th package of sanctions against Russia, which will include measures against oil, lowering the price ceiling, new restrictions against the so-called shadow fleet.
