Hungary and the US have signed a memorandum of understanding on the supply of American liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Europe.

According to Report, Hungary’s Foreign Minister Anita Orbán announced this on Facebook following a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington.

“We have signed two important cooperation agreements with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Under the Trump Peace Pipelines Framework agreement, we are strengthening cooperation on the development of regional infrastructure for the transport of natural gas and crude oil. The second agreement is aimed at expanding cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the exchange of information on crimes committed by radical organisations,” the post states.

The Trump Peace Pipelines Framework programme is aimed at developing energy infrastructure in Central and Eastern Europe, including the expansion of the gas pipeline network and the creation of the capacity required to receive American LNG.
