EU leaders are trying to drag out the Russia-Ukraine conflict in order to save themselves, as if peace comes, they will have to answer for their failed policy and resign.

According to Report, citing foreign media, this is how the official representative of Hungary’s ruling party Tamás Mencer characterised Brussels’ actions, who spoke on the Sunday programme of the Kossuth radio station.

He called it absurd that EU leaders ignore the interests of the community’s countries for the benefit of Ukraine, which is not a member of the European association.

“They are doing this in order to save themselves. Because if peace comes, they will have to account for bad decisions on the war and sanctions against Russia, for the fate of €150bn allocated to Ukraine, as well as take political responsibility and resign, which they clearly do not want to do,” Mencer said.
