Kyrgyzstan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have signed a framework agreement that will help speed up the launch and implementation of significant socio-economic projects in the country.

This was reported on Wednesday by Trend, citing the Kyrgyz Ministry of Finance.

The agreement was signed following talks between Finance Minister Ruslan Suynaliev and ADB Vice-President Yin Min Yan on the sidelines of the 59th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank, taking place from 2 to 6 May in Samarkand.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, as well as the implementation of joint projects aimed at the socio-economic development of Kyrgyzstan.

The ADB Vice-President noted the Bank’s readiness to continue providing comprehensive support to the country, including in promoting structural reforms, modernising the public administration system and advancing digitalisation.

According to him, the ADB will continue to facilitate the implementation of priority initiatives aimed at the country’s sustainable economic development.

In turn, R. Suynaliev expressed his gratitude to the ADB for its support and emphasised its importance for ensuring macroeconomic stability and advancing key reforms.
