Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay an official visit to Astana on 9 November, the press service of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said. During the meeting, the heads of state plan to discuss topical issues of the Kazakh-Russian strategic partnership.
“President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will pay an official visit to Astana on 9 November 2023 at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Within the framework of the visit, it is planned to hold meetings between the leaders of the two countries, during which topical issues of the Kazakh-Russian strategic partnership will be discussed,” the statement said. In addition, Mr Tokayev and Mr Putin will take part in the XIX Forum on Interregional Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia, which will be held in Kostanay.
Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev last met on 7 October in Novo-Ogaryovo, Moscow Region, where they launched Russian gas deliveries to Uzbekistan via Kazakhstan. At the time, Vladimir Putin spoke of plans to set up a working group to expand energy co-operation with Kazakhstan.
