On September 5, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump. The discussion focused on strengthening the strategic partnership and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation. Trump praised Uzbekistan’s recent reforms, while Mirziyoyev commended the U.S. for its role in ensuring global peace and security. Bilateral trade has been steadily growing, with a 15% increase in 2024. The two sides highlighted cooperation in civil aviation, energy, agriculture, digital technologies, finance, education, and innovation. They also reaffirmed joint efforts in security, especially in combating terrorism and illegal migration. Regional cooperation within the “C5+1” framework was addressed. Mirziyoyev invited Trump to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan.
