U.S. President Donald Trump said there is a 75% chance that his upcoming August 15 meeting in Alaska with Russian President Vladimir Putin will be successful, and a 25% chance he may find it “not worthwhile.” If successful, Trump might organize a trilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, with Alaska among possible venues. The Kremlin stressed that conditions for a Putin-Zelensky meeting have not yet been met and that extensive preparations are needed. Moscow called for focusing first on the bilateral U.S.-Russia summit.
