Turkmenistan advocates the development of international cooperation aimed at ensuring reliable, stable and diversified supplies of energy resources to global markets.

As reported by Trend on Thursday, this was stated by Nokerguly Atagulyev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, during the second meeting of heads of government and vice-presidents of the member states of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) in Baku.

“We also attach great importance to the implementation of joint energy projects, the development of infrastructure and the interconnection of energy markets. At the same time, it is important to take into account the interests of producers, transit countries and consumers – this principle underpins Turkmenistan’s energy policy,” he said.

Ataguliev noted that today Turkmenistan is actively cooperating with a number of Turkic states in the gas and energy sectors and is ready to expand this cooperation.

“Joint projects contribute to strengthening economic ties and ensuring regional and interregional energy security,” he stated.
