Uzbekistan and Japanese companies discussed cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry

On 17 January, a working meeting was held at the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan with the management of Japanese trading and consulting companies, with the participation of the agency’s director, Abdulla Azizov, Trend reports.

According to the information, representatives of Aria Investment Trust LLC, Tobidai Inc, Agnostri Inc, Global Silk Road Inc and Japan Uz Trade House LLC took part in the meeting. The parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, as well as issues related to the development of production infrastructure in Uzbekistan, including within the Tashkent Pharma Park cluster.

The head of Tobidai Inc, Daichi Homma, emphasised the high level of interest in the infrastructure opportunities and pace of development of the pharmaceutical cluster, expressing his willingness to study in more detail the conditions for the provision of land plots and the services of the DM company Pharm Service.

Abdulla Azizov, in turn, outlined the prospects for cooperation with Japanese companies that have significant experience in the production of biologically active supplements and medicinal plants.

Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached on a visit by a number of Japanese companies to Uzbekistan in February 2026.
