Uzbekistan’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, met with Ichiro Takahara, Chairman and CEO of the Japanese corporation JOGMEC. The parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the field of geological exploration and mineral extraction.
JOGMEC (Japan Organisation for Metals and Energy Security) is a Japanese corporation whose activities are aimed at ensuring the security of strategic resources, including oil, gas and metals.
According to the press service of the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting the parties explored opportunities to expand geological exploration work in Uzbekistan, develop deposits of key minerals and introduce advanced Japanese technologies in these areas.
Furthermore, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in developing cooperation in the areas of mineral processing and refining, improving the quality of metallurgical products, training specialists, and conducting research.
