Alisher Tuhtayev, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, met with Harun Akhtar Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Federal Minister for Industry and Manufacturing. During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
The parties paid particular attention to preparations for a visit by a delegation of Uzbek businesspeople to Pakistan and the organisation of the ‘Uzbekistan–Pakistan’ business forum as part of that visit. According to those present at the meeting, the forum will serve as a platform for establishing direct contacts between representatives of the business community, strengthening trade links and launching new joint investment projects.
In addition, the parties discussed the preparation of bilateral documents, the implementation of promising initiatives and the removal of existing barriers hindering the development of economic cooperation.
Harun Akhtar Khan welcomed the initiatives put forward by the Uzbek side and expressed his readiness to provide comprehensive support in organising the delegation’s forthcoming visit.
