Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Development Bank discuss new infrastructure projects

On 18 May in Tashkent, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bobur Usmanov held a meeting with Nikolai Podguzov, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank, Trend reports.

According to the report, the talks focused on expanding investment cooperation and further strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and the EDB.

The parties reviewed the current state of the partnership and the prospects for implementing joint projects, including initiatives in the infrastructure sector. Particular attention was paid to practical aspects of the Eurasian Development Bank’s activities in Uzbekistan.

The meeting participants noted the importance of opening an EDB representative office in Tashkent, which should facilitate the bank’s more active participation in investment processes and accelerate the implementation of joint projects.

Following the talks, the parties confirmed their interest in further developing cooperation, including within the framework of new investment and infrastructure initiatives in Uzbekistan.
