Uzbekneftegaz JSC and representatives of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) discussed expanding cooperation aimed at improving the efficiency of the Bukhara oil refinery.

This was reported on Thursday by Trend with reference to Uzbekneftegaz JSC.

Cooperation issues were discussed during a meeting between the chairman of the board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC, Abdugani Sanginov, and the management of SOCAR’s subsidiaries, SOCAR Trading and SOCAR Downstream Management.

The parties discussed proposals for the implementation of modern operational solutions, the digitalisation of production processes, and the improvement of the plant’s energy efficiency. Particular attention was paid to the possible conduct of a technical audit and the development of practical recommendations for the modernisation of the plant.

It was noted that the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, supported at the level of heads of state, is being consistently strengthened, which creates additional opportunities for expanding cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
