Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar on the sidelines of the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
According to Trend News Agency, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, the meeting addressed issues arising from the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, as well as various aspects of the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda. The parties emphasized that high-level mutual visits and contacts between the two countries form a solid foundation for inter-state relations. In this context, special importance was attached to the visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to Azerbaijan in May and the talks held between the leaders of the two countries in Lachin. The meeting also noted that developments such as the Economic Cooperation Organization Summit to be hosted by Azerbaijan in July and Azerbaijan’s assumption of the presidency of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation starting in 2026 present new opportunities for partnership in multilateral platforms. The parties stated that sustainable political dialogue contributes positively to cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, investment, energy security, transportation, and other potential fields.
