China has completed the first phase of its 6G technology trials, conducted over four consecutive years, yielding over 300 advances in key technological areas, as reported by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on Thursday, November 13, 2025. This initial stage defined the main technical directions for 6G, which is set to become the most important global comprehensive digital information network infrastructure over the next decade, achieving integrated innovation in communication, sensing, computing, and intelligence. Vice Minister Zhang Yunming committed to strengthening research on key core technologies and advancing technical R&D and standardization to lay a solid foundation for 6G industrialization. This strategic step, which is included in the CPC’s 15th Five-Year Plan, reinforces China’s diplomatic and economic objective of leading the world in future digital infrastructure and technology.
