Turkmenistan and Cambodia have explored opportunities to expand bilateral economic cooperation and strengthen business ties.

According to Trend, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the discussions took place during a meeting between Neak Okna Kit Meng, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cambodia, and Ahmet Gurbanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, during the latter’s official visit to Phnom Penh.

The Turkmen side emphasised the importance of establishing direct contacts between the business communities of both countries and proposed strengthening cooperation through business forums, trade missions and thematic online meetings.

The parties identified digital trade, regular visits by business delegations, participation in international exhibitions and the demonstration of export potential as priority areas for cooperation.

Particular attention was also paid to strengthening cooperation in the small and medium-sized enterprise sector and establishing links between the free economic zones and industrial clusters of Turkmenistan and Cambodia.
