He noted that in recent years, the volume of cargo transported via the Middle Corridor has increased more than fivefold. In 2025, container traffic grew by 36%.
“In the near future, we intend to increase this figure to 10 million tonnes. To ensure effective coordination of the transit transport system, a unified digital management platform, Smart Cargo, has been developed. Overall, expanding the capabilities of the Middle Corridor serves the long-term interests of our countries. In this regard, we have proposed the joint implementation of the e-permit project, which allows logistics procedures to be carried out electronically; in other words, it ensures maximum transparency of processes and minimises administrative costs. “I consider it important to link the ‘Middle Corridor’ project with the ‘Trump’s Route for International Peace and Prosperity’ (TRIPP) initiative,” said Tokayev.
“TAV Holding is currently renovating the international terminal at Almaty Airport. S Sistem Lojistik has expressed an interest in building a logistics centre at Aktobe Airport. The implementation of these initiatives will help strengthen the capacity of the domestic aviation industry,” noted the President.
