Israel and Syria may sign a security agreement in September. The U.S. is working to organize a trilateral meeting between Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and U.S. President Donald Trump. The meeting is expected to take place on September 25 in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. The parties plan to sign documents aimed at reducing tensions, though a comprehensive peace treaty is not currently on the agenda. Progress has also been reported in recent talks held in Paris between Israeli and Syrian officials.
