Kyrgyz Ministry of Education and UK Foreign Office discuss cooperation

The Kyrgyz Ministry of Education and the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office held a meeting to strengthen cooperation in the field of education. On May 19, 2025, Lira Samykbaeva, Deputy Minister of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic, met with Mark Clayton, Deputy Director for Eastern Partnership and Central Asia at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

During the meeting, the current state of educational cooperation between the two countries and potential future projects were discussed. They agreed to deepen cooperation, particularly in the areas of teacher training, curriculum development and English language teaching. Samikbayeva thanked the UK for its support for education reforms in Kyrgyzstan and emphasized that this cooperation plays an important role in improving the quality of the Kyrgyz education system. Clayton, for his part, expressed the UK’s readiness to further develop education cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, noting that strong relations between the two countries will contribute to regional stability and development.
