The President of Uzbekistan has issued a comprehensive decree aimed at significantly expanding cooperation with Mongolia in the agri-food sector for 2025–2026.

This important step followed the successful state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Mongolia on 24 and 25 June 2025, during which both countries reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations and expanding trade and economic ties.

One of the key tasks outlined in the decree is the import of 100,000 head of small ruminants from Mongolia to Uzbekistan with the ambitious goal of increasing their population to 1 million by the end of 2029 through advanced breeding and adaptation programmes. The decree also provides for the creation and development of wool and cashmere processing industries, as well as the production of finished textile products.

In addition, the decree sets a target of increasing exports of fruit, vegetables and food products to Mongolia tenfold, with continuous annual growth. This is complemented by initiatives to promote the exchange of experience and improve the qualifications of agricultural specialists in both countries, thereby contributing to the exchange of knowledge and technological progress.
