Slovak system operator SEPS has sent an official notice to Ukrenergo announcing the termination of emergency electricity supplies.
As reported by Report, the relevant statement was published on the Ukrainian company’s Telegram channel.
“Ukrenergo has received an official letter from Slovakia’s SEPS regarding the unilateral termination of the agreement on mutual emergency assistance. The final termination of the contractual terms will take place in May of this year,” the statement read.
According to Ukrenergo, no changes will occur for Ukrainian consumers: “Emergency assistance from Slovakia was engaged very rarely and in very limited volumes. The last such case was recorded back in January of this year. The termination of the Mutual Emergency Assistance Agreement has no effect on commercial electricity exchange. Electricity imports from Slovakia to Ukraine have been and continue to be carried out without restrictions.”
Previously, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico had accused Ukraine of artificially delaying the resumption of oil pumping through the Druzhba pipeline, which was damaged as a result of Russian strikes.
