Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that he held a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump.
According to Report, he posted a statement to this effect on his Telegram channel.
According to Zelenskyy, he wished Trump a happy birthday and discussed key issues with him, including ways to achieve peace and end Russia’s war against Ukraine.
He also thanked the US for its support of Ukraine, noting the assistance “from Javelin to Patriot”.
Zelenskyy said he had briefed Trump on the situation at the front and the strengthening of Ukrainian forces’ positions, and also expressed hope for continued contact during the G7 summit.
“We discussed what could help bring peace closer now… We have good ideas that can help bring peace closer and protect lives,” he wrote.
