The European Union is interested in strengthening economic cooperation and trade with Uzbekistan. As part of its Global Gateway strategy, the EU aims to develop the Trans-Caspian transport corridor.

This was stated by Toivo Klaar, Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan, in an exclusive interview with Trend.

‘By developing the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor, we aim to ensure faster and less costly transportation of goods between our regions,’ Klaar said.

He stressed that the EU encourages closer cooperation between European and Uzbek companies and actively supports B2B interaction.

“In this regard, last year we organised the EU-Central Asia Economic Forum on 26 November, the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor Investor Forum on 27 November, and the first ever EU-Central Asia Tourism Forum on 28 November. All these events were held in Tashkent,” he said.
