Kazakhstan and IATA discuss flight safety and digitalisation in civil aviation

Kazakhstan has held talks with representatives of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) on issues relating to safety and digitalisation in the civil aviation sector.

According to Trend, citing the Kazakh Ministry of Transport, during a meeting between Kazakh Deputy Transport Minister Talgat Lastayev, IATA Vice-President Rafael Schwartzman and Regional Manager for Central Asia Rizwan Siddiki, the parties discussed maintaining high standards of flight safety and the further implementation of international standards in the aviation sector.

Particular attention was paid to the introduction of biometric technologies in passenger services, the digitalisation of cargo transport, and the implementation of large-scale projects in the areas of staff training and infrastructure modernisation.

T. Lastaev emphasised Kazakhstan’s openness to constructive dialogue with IATA and expressed gratitude for the association’s international expertise on key issues concerning the development of the aviation industry.

The parties also noted the importance of continuing cooperation to improve aviation standards and strengthen the industry’s development in line with international practice.

IATA brings together more than 300 airlines worldwide, accounting for around 85 per cent of global air traffic. The association’s members include the Kazakhstani airlines Air Astana, SCAT and VietJet Qazaqstan.
